Infection Control
Rainbow Trays support the reduction of Surgical Site Infections by providing a clean-every-time bacteriostatic tray for anaesthetic drugs and equipment that will not harbour the growth of micro-organisms that can be the cause of SSI’s.
Rainbow trays are manufactured from recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), a material that has natural bacteriostatic properties and is often used in packaging for medical products (as well as widely used in the food and beverage industry) to maintain sterility and reduce risks of contamination.
The use of paper pulp within the surgical environment is discouraged due to the non-sterile nature of paper pulp and the risks of pulp fibres within the sterile field.
The design features of Rainbow Trays provide for a clean tray for every procedure as well as separate compartments for each drug type to avoid the risks of cross-contamination.
The Tamper Evident Rainbow Trays will maintain the integrity of this clean environment whilst drugs are in transit between secure locations.
All PET used to manufacture Rainbow Trays is recycled material wherever possible and all elements of Rainbow Trays are fully recyclable
